Questions, answered plainly
The things people ask before spending several thousand dollars on a leather sofa. If your question is not here, ask it and we will answer it directly.
Are these real leather?+
Every piece in the collection is upholstered in leather, and each product page names the grade and the finish separately — for example top-grain with a semi-aniline finish. We do not use the phrase “genuine leather” as a specification, because it does not tell you which layer of the hide you are buying.
Can I see the colour before ordering?+
Yes. Swatches are cut from the same hides we upholster with and posted free — up to six colours, to the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Request them from any product page or from the leather guide.
How long does a sofa take?+
Pieces are made to order. Lead times run from five to ten weeks depending on the model and leather, and the figure on each product page is the one we work to. We email a production date once your order is confirmed.
Will it fit through my door?+
Each product page has a fit check that compares the piece's smallest cross-section against your doorway, hallway, stair turn and lift. It is a planning tool, not a guarantee — send us your measurements and we will confirm them before production starts.
Do you deliver internationally?+
We currently deliver to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. Prices are shown in USD. If you are elsewhere, contact us and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
What does delivery include?+
Two-person threshold delivery is included on every order: to the first dry, covered space at your address. Room-of-choice and white-glove services are quoted after ordering, because they depend on your postcode and access.
How do I pay?+
You send an order request, and a specialist confirms leather, lead time, delivery and final cost by email. Payment is taken after that confirmation — the checkout does not charge a card.
What if I change my mind?+
Stock pieces can be cancelled within fourteen days of delivery. Made-to-order pieces cannot be cancelled once production has begun, which is why we publish dimensions and send swatches first. Full terms are on the returns page.
How do I look after the leather?+
Dust weekly with a dry cloth, blot spills immediately, and keep the piece out of direct sun and away from heat. A pH-neutral leather cleaner once or twice a year is enough. The care guide covers each finish in detail.
Is the leather protected against stains?+
It depends on the finish. Semi-aniline and pigmented leathers are pigment-protected and wipe clean readily. Aniline leather is left open, so it marks and patinas — beautiful, but not the choice for a household with pets or small children.
